Stablecoin
A crypto token whose issuer aims to hold its value at a fixed rate to a fiat currency, most often one US dollar per token.
How it works in CryptoLike
CryptoLike accepts three stablecoin assets: USDT on TRON (TRC20), USDT on Ethereum (ERC20) and USDC on Ethereum (ERC20). Each token on each network is a separate asset with its own coin_id in GET /v1/currencies, its own balance, confirmation threshold and fee, so a payment in USDT TRC20 must be paid on TRON and a payment in USDT ERC20 on Ethereum.
Price a payment directly in the token — currency: "USDT" with the coin_id of the network you want — and the customer sends exactly that amount. Or price it in fiat (currency: "USD") and let the payer choose the asset: the exchange rate is locked when the asset is known and the crypto amount does not change for the time to pay. Received tokens stay on your balance in that token until you send a payout.
The peg is maintained by the issuer — Tether for USDT, Circle for USDC — not by CryptoLike. CryptoLike reports every amount as a decimal string in the token itself, with the decimals of that token. How the two compare for a merchant: USDT or USDC for business.
Which stablecoins and networks does CryptoLike support?
CryptoLike supports two stablecoins across two networks: USDT on TRON and Ethereum, USDC on Ethereum. Each row is a separate asset, shown with its token standard and the native coin the payer's wallet spends on the network fee. Every asset has its own page with its confirmation threshold and fees:
| Asset | Network | Standard | Network fee paid in |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDT | TRON | TRC20 | TRX |
| USDT | Ethereum | ERC20 | ETH |
| USDC | Ethereum | ERC20 | ETH |
