Cold wallet
Storage for crypto whose signing keys are kept away from any online system, so funds there cannot be moved by an automated process or a compromised server.
How it works in CryptoLike
CryptoLike keeps only what payouts need in the hot wallet and holds the rest in cold storage. When the hot balance of an asset goes above its ceiling, the system proposes a transfer of the surplus to the cold address. The transfer happens only after an operator approves it with a fresh 2FA code; a proposal nobody approves expires without moving anything.
The cold address itself can change only with two people: one administrator proposes a new address and a different one confirms it, and the signing service also has to allow that address. The signing service watches the cold wallet but does not sign transfers from it.
For merchants this is invisible: the balance in the cabinet is the same whichever wallet holds the coins. What merchants control is where payouts go — see the security page for the payout controls and their defaults.
